CULTURAL PROBES

Design tool for bridging the cultural gaps between generations

The Cultural probe is a method created by designers Bill Gaver, Tony Dunne and Elena Pacenti in their multinational project in 1999. Since then probes have evolved, adapted and been used in different areas, and project with design base. Probes are method where designers are not present while the probes are used, rather they remove themselves by sending probes to the participants in envelopes with different tools, probes to be sent back when completed.

They were also the main design research method in my master's thesis on the topic of cultural translation and now Im shering my version of this design tool with wordl web in hope people might find this tool useful and used in for personal relationship as well as in office environment between people of different generations or people of different culture in order to get to know them better.
